After Sweden, the incident of burning the Quran in Denmark also, Pakistan and Turkey strongly condemned
Anti-Islamic politician Rasmus Paludan, who holds dual citizenship, first set fire to a Koran near a mosque in the Danish capital Copenhagen, then a scroll was set on fire outside the Turkish embassy.
On the alleged desecration of Quran in Denmark, strong reaction is coming from Pakistan and Turkey.
The Foreign Office of Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation statement in this regard, in which it is said that "Pakistan strongly condemns the shameful and aggressive act of desecration of the Quran in Denmark." Due to the same Islamophobia, a similar act of desecration took place in Sweden a few days ago.
On the other hand, Turkey summoned the Danish ambassador in Ankara on Friday and has registered a protest over the incident.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lok Rasmussen has confirmed that the ambassador has been summoned, but at the same time, he has said that Copenhagen has excellent relations with Ankara and that the incident has not strained diplomatic relations.
It should be remembered that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a statement about Sweden this week that "after a copy of the Quran was burned in its capital Stockholm, it supports Turkey in its bid to join NATO." Do not expect.'
It should be noted that after the war between Ukraine and Russia started last year, Sweden and Finland are trying to get membership of NATO, the military organization of the United States and European countries.
These two European countries have also formally applied for NATO membership, but Turkey, as a member of NATO, blocked their application by using its veto power.
Since this move by Turkey, there has been a series of protests against Turkey in Sweden.
The statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Office further states that 'the repetition of this unethical and unacceptable act has created in the minds of Muslims around the world that freedom to spread religious hatred and incite violence. Expressions are being misused.'
According to the statement of the Foreign Office, "We request them (Denmark) to respect the sentiments of Muslims around the world, including Pakistan, and take measures to prevent acts of hatred against Islam.
